GENERAL
CLEARANCE INFORMATION
All shipments of household goods and personal effects and any accompanying
motor vehicles, motor cycles, boats, trailers and caravans arriving
into any Australian ports are required to be transported under bond
to a licenced Section 77G facility to be unloaded for inspection
by officers from the Australian Customs Service and the Australian
Quarantine Inspection Service.
Whybirds International are the holders and operators of a licenced
Section 77G facility.
CUSTOMS CLEARANCE PROCESS - HOUSEHOLD GOODS & PERSONAL
EFFECTS
For household goods and personal effects shipments, a Customs form
(B534) issue 6/00 (no earlier) ‘Unaccompanied Personal Effects
Statement’ must be completed and signed by the owner of the
goods to clear the shipment when it arrives in Australia. A photocopy
of the client’s personal details page and the photograph page
from their passport together with a full descriptive inventory in
English are required to clear the unaccompanied personal effects
shipment through Customs.
CUSTOMS CLEARANCE PROCESS – MOTOR VEHICLES. MOTOR
CYCLES, BOATS, TRAILERS & CARAVANS
For motor vehicle, motor cycle, boat, trailer and caravan shipments
accompanying a household goods shipment, these must be declared
and identified on the B534 Unaccompanied Effects Statement and supporting
documents confirming proof of ownership, proof of period of ownership
and proof of purchase value will be required to substantiate the
value and period of ownership of these items.
For motor vehicle, motor cycle, boat, trailer and caravans arriving
separately, a B534 Unaccompanied Effects Statement must be completed
individually and the supporting proof of ownership provided.

VEHICLE IMPORT PERMIT
All vehicles, trailers, motor cycles and caravans arriving into
Australia must be accompanied by a Vehicle Import Permit as part
of the clearance process and the permit must be applied for by the
client prior to the motor vehicle, motor cycle, trailer or caravan
being shipped from the country of origin. A separate permit is required
for each vehicle type.

QUARANTINE CLEARANCE INFORMATION
As Australia's first line of defence in protecting our unique environment
against exotic pests and diseases, all shipments of household goods
and personal effects, all motor vehicles, motor cycles, boats, trailers
and caravans are inspected by officers from the Australian Quarantine
Inspection Service to ensure that there are no prohibited items
included in the shipment that may be harmful to Australia or it’s
people.
This inspection is detailed and thorough and a charge is levied
for this inspection.

AFTER CLEARANCE
Once your goods are cleared through customs and quarantine, they
are available for delivery to residence or for collection from our
depot depending on your choice of service.
If all documents are completed correctly and all information is
provided prior to the arrival of the shipment, clearance through
customs and quarantine takes between 7 – 14 working days and
all charges must be paid in full before the shipment can be released
for delivery, storage or collection. |
